Maria's Austin Maestro Campervan

F506 MDL, the Tandy Camper.

Mine looked not dissimilar to Grayham and Lynne's when I got it - on the outside at least, although it had only "Maestro" in the scripted coachline, rather than "Maestro Extra." I'm guessing the "Extra" refers to the elevating roof.

The interior of F506MDL (or Muddle as he is known to his friends) is quite a different layout.

There is a wardrobe and cooker space (mine didn't come with a cooker) on the right as you look into the back, and a bookshelf type thing on the left wall. The bench is an L shape with the usualy openable cupboards, and on the right hand side, instead of the bench, there is a small sink and cupboard space for gas and water bottles. Grayham's van layout makes a lot more sense, as they have the entire width of the van to sleep in, instead of being squashed in the 2/3 on the left hand side!

Since getting Muddle, the interior and exterior have been altered extensively as the bodywork needed some tidying and the interior was rather badly water (??) stained and not in great condition.

I'm attaching some "before" and "after" pictures, and I hope you like him, although I appreciate Muddle in his current incarnation isn't to everyone's taste!

One more thing - I have a Caranex awning for Muddle, which can be seen in one of the pictures. It's handy to extend the space inside the van, give changing room / extra sleeping space / storage space etc, and has the door on the side, making it idea for the back of a small van.
